In celebration of Widmore’s reappearance at the end of last night’s episode, a Widmore Industries shirt is in order.

8 facts about Widmore Industries:

  1. Widmore Industries apparently has a partnership with Paik Heavy Industries.
  2. A Widmore Labs logo is on the pregnancy tests used by Sun, Kate and Juliet’s sister, Rachel.
  3. A Widmore Labs logo is on the side of Henry Gale’s hot air balloon basket.
  4. A Widmore Construction banner is hanging from one of the buildings where Drive Shaft is filming a commercial.
  5. The Widmore Corporation organized the boat race Desmond participated in.
  6. In chapter 6 of Bad Twin we learn that Widmore Industries and the Hanso Foundation both have offices at East 57th Street in New York City.
  7. The Maxwell Group is apparently a division of Widmore Industries.
  8. In a 1997 auction, Widmore Industries CEO Charles Widmore purchased lot #2342: the journal of the first mate on the Black Rock sailing vessel.

As you may have already noticed, ABC has finally given the green light for Lost fans to create their own Lost-themed gear at Cafe Press. There are all kinds of great designs to choose from, such as this shirt.

8 facts about the Black Rock:

  1. It’s a British ship that set sail from Portsmouth, England in 1845.
  2. Kate and Jack found skeletons of slaves shackled together inside the hull when they went looking for dynamite.
  3. Charlie read in Claire’s diary that she had a dream about a “black rock.”
  4. The first mate of the ship kept a journal that was later auctioned off and purchased by Charles Widmore.
  5. Strangely, the Black Rock is currently shipwrecked inland–in an area Rousseau referred to as “the dark territory.” It’s an area where the smoke monster is highly active.
  6. In Rousseau’s distress signal she mentions that she’ll “try to make it to the Black Rock.”
  7. Jacob and his nemesis apparently watched the ship sail toward the island.
  8. The members of the DHARMA Initiative seem to have no knowledge of the Black Rock.

  1. Charlie and Hurley found the Geronimo Jackson album Magna Carta in the Swan’s LP collection.
  2. A poster for the band was hanging inside the locker that a 16-year-old John Locke got pushed into.
  3. A  vinyl cover is lying next to the DJ at Hurley’s surprise birthday party.
  4. Jin is listening to the song “Dharma Lady” by Geronimo Jackson while riding in the DHARMA van.
  5. The song “Dharma Lady” is also playing in the background after the 1977 DHARMA recruits have their picture taken.
  6. A concert poster is hanging on the wall of the DHARMA Initiative cafeteria.
  7. Several ancillary characters have been seen wearing Geronimo Jackson T-shirts.
  8. The producers claim the band is a real but obscure group from the “Haight-Ashbury scene.”

    4 facts about Richard Alpert:

    1. The real-life Richard Alpert is a psychologist dismissed from Harvard for his research involving psychedelic drugs. He later became a Hindu spiritualist, taking the name Ram Dass. He wrote Be Here Now among other books.
    2. Richard Alpert was a colleague of Aldous Huxley who wrote The Island. The utopian island described in Huxley’s book is called “Pala.” The DHARMA Initiative developed the Pala Ferry to transport its workers.
    3. Albert Richardson was the name of the first mate on the merchant ship Mary Celeste. The ship was discovered abandoned in the ocean in 1872 with no explanation.
    4. Richard is a German name meaning powerful leader.

    8 facts about the smoke monster:

    1. One of the sound effects used when the monster appears is the sound of a New York City taxicab receipt printer (which is why Rose, who is from the Bronx, remarked that it sounded so familiar).
    2. On the blast door map, there is information about a “Cerberus system” and the initials “CV” which stands for “Cerberus Vent” and is a reference to the monster. In Greek and Roman mythology, Cerberus is a multi-headed hound that guards the gates of Hades.
    3. Only a few people ever made it past Cerberus in mythological tales, including Orpheus who charmed him with music, Hercules who wrestled him to submission, Psyche who bribed him and Sibyl who drugged him.
    4. A 5-year-old Locke drew a picture of a man being attacked by a whirling cloud of black smoke.
    5. When the monster killed Eko, he did so in the sign of the cross—first picking Eko’s body straight up then throwing it sideways against a tree, sideways against another tree and slamming it to the ground.
    6. Producers have confirmed that Eko’s brother Yemi, the Medusa spider that bit and paralyzed Nikki and some versions of Walt were actually manifestations of the smoke monster.
    7. The howl that the monster makes is usually in concert pitch A. The frequency of this pitch is 440 hertz. A-440 is the standard to which musical instruments are tuned.
    8. The Holy Quran says, “Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke plainly visible, enveloping the people this will be a penalty grievous.” verses 10-11 of the 44th Surah of AlDukhan (The Smoke)
